Frederick (Rick) Mabee Obituary

FREDERICK GLEN MABEE

September 22, 1945 – February 9, 2024

With great sadness, we share the passing of Frederick (Rick) Mabee. He is survived by his wife Karen of 52 years; son Patrick; daughter Kerry (Johan) and grandsons Mason, Arlo and Ronan; his siblings Wayne (Char), Ella (Frank), Bob (Lois), Larry (Jean) as well as his nieces and nephews; sister-in-law Lorraine; brother-in-law Bud and his many good friends.

Rick enjoyed a career as a welder that took him to France and Canada’s Artic where he worked on the oil rigs. A highlight of his career was travelling through the Northwest Passage on an Icebreaker. He was also involved in the restoration of the Golden Boy in 2002. He was an avid curler and volunteer with the Selkirk Curling Club.

He loved his family, especially time with his grandsons. There were many hours spent in his workshop with good friends.

He will be missed and each of us hold special memories in our hearts. We miss and love you, Papa.

A celebration of his life will be held at his home on Saturday, February 24th between 1-4:00 p.m. All family and friends are welcome to share memories.
