Gilbert Cousineau
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our much-loved husband, dad and grandpa, on July 19, 2021.
With his family at his side, Dad peacefully passed after a lengthy battle with Parkinson’s. Gilbert was born in Quebec and grew up on the St. Lawrence River in Melocheville. Dad had a passion for cars, hunting, and fishing. Working as a surveyor at the Kettle Station in Gillam, he met the love of his life Audrey. They married and had 3 daughters and are celebrating 50 years together this year. After a number of years working at the Winnipeg fire department as a heavy-duty mechanic, Dad fulfilled his dream of owning his own business, successfully operating both the Petersfield and Clandeboye Stores. Dad was exceptionally generous and proud to serve his community.
Dad's legacy will live on in his children and grandchildren. Gilbert is survived by his loving wife Audrey, children Giselle, Vivian (Keith), Susie (Mauricio), grandchildren Molson, Simon, Marcus, brothers Michel (Ghislaine), Richard (Sara), Robert, and sister Monique (Claude). He was predeceased by his parents Lucien and Anita Cousineau.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date. A gift in honor can be made to Parkinson Canada. https://donate.parkinson.ca/site/Donation2?df_id=4681&4681.donation=form1&mfc_pref=T
Gilbert will be lovingly remembered by family and friends as a kind, gentle and patient man.
