It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Gladys Sylvia Moroz on November 17, 2025, after a brief battle with cancer. She passed away peacefully with her family by her side.
Gladys will be deeply missed by her children Darryl (Debbie), Kim (Mike), and Wes (Julie); her stepchildren Leslie and Darren; her sister Julie; eleven grandchildren; and sixteen great-grandchildren. She loved each of them dearly.
Born in Selkirk on May 16, 1941, and raised in Libau, Gladys built a remarkable 50-year career in pharmacy beginning at the old Selkirk General Hospital in 1970. She served at the Selkirk General Hospital, Seven Oaks, and later in Yellowknife, where she met her partner, Tony. Their drives between Yellowknife and Manitoba remained among her most cherished memories.
Upon returning to Selkirk, Gladys planned to retire but soon found herself back at work, spending another 16 years in the Selkirk Regional Health Centre Pharmacy. She finally retired in 2022 at the age of 82, fondly known by colleagues as a true “Pharmacy Legend.” Their visits and support in her final hours meant so much.
Gladys loved reading books, doing crossword puzzles, and had a lifelong love for all of her pets; always spoiling them with treats. She will be remembered for her kind heart, sharp wit, and wonderful sense of humour - traits she carried with her even in her final days. To her family, she will always be the best Nanny in the world.
The family extends heartfelt thanks to the staff of the Selkirk Regional Health Centre and to Gilbart’s Funeral Home for their care and compassion during this difficult time.
As per Gladys’s wishes, no formal service will be held.
