Obituary

Graham Alan Bruce Mathers

November 29, 1953 – February 13, 2025

With great sadness we are sharing the passing of Graham Mathers at the age of 71.

Graham passed on February 13, 2025, with his family by his side at St. Boniface Hospital.

He was predeceased by his mother Audrey Mathers, his son Kevin Mathers and his auntie Evie Bazan.

He is survived by his loving wife Debbie of 49 years, his daughter Tracey, his grandchildren Amanda Cyncora (Rey), Brandon Cyncora and Ashley Kashuba; his close nephew Kerry Beaton (Stephanie). He leaves to mourn his passing his sisters-in-law Mary Jo Beaton, Linda Beaton and brother-in-law Allan Beaton (Bev), numerous nieces, nephews and friends he considered family.

Dad was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba and spent a few years there, before moving to Lockport, Manitoba. Dad was very proud of his Lockport Heritage and ensured his children and grandchildren were well educated on Lockport. Dad went to school in Selkirk, and one day while riding the bus home, he noticed the most beautiful girl walking home, and made it his mission to find her and that’s where their love story began.

Dad had a number of jobs in his younger year, until he settled and spent most of his life as a crane operator until his retirement in 2018 from Manitoba Rolling Mills.

He had a love of sports, his greatest passion was for baseball and his time spent with his extended family playing for the Red Devils.

Dad was a very sociable fellow and made friends wherever he went.

Following his wishes, cremation has taken place. A private family interment will take place at a later date.

Please join the family on March 15 from 1:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. for a celebration of life at the Army and Navy located at 231 Clandeboye Ave. in Selkirk, Manitoba.

In lieu of flowers, donations could be made to ALS Society.
