Grant Rimmer Obituary

Grant Rimmer

With heavy hearts we announce the unexpected but peaceful passing at his residence in Petersfield, MB on Tuesday, July 26, 2022, of Grant Rimmer, a gentle man, beautiful human being, loving husband and dad, at the age of 66.

Grant is survived by his wife and best friend Jackie, his daughter Courtney (Aman), brother Allen (Kim), and many great friends.

He was predeceased by his mother Elizabeth (nee Gwynn), father Norman, and brother John.

Grant loved the home he created with his wife Jackie, which was an oasis for them both.  He was so proud of his daughter Courtney, who he loved with all his heart.  In his eyes a more smart, astute person does not exist.

He enjoyed quad rides, which often took him to his best friends The Rileys, for a cold one.  Grant was a music aficionado.  If you had a rock n roll question, Grant would have the answer, and a complete background story.  He also loved his little vegetable garden, so proud and pleased with the bounty.

Grant worked his whole life at Standard Aero, in the T56 Test Cell where he would test, build, and troubleshoot fuel controls for the Hercules engine.  He was very proud of his work and treasured the many special friendships he made there in his 48 years.  He recently commented that he looked forward to being the first person to reach 50 consecutive years.

Friends and family are invited to honour his life on Tuesday, August 2, at 11:00 a.m. in the Gilbart Funeral Chapel, Selkirk, MB.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
