Hailey Chief
July 30, 1999 – September 12, 2023
It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of our sweet Hailey Lynn Lorrayne Chief, on September 12, 2023, Hailey peacefully passed away with her family by her side at St. Boniface Hospital.
Hailey had lived in Brokenhead Ojibway Nation for most of her life. The last few years of her life, the bright lights of the city were more appealing to Hailey. Hailey loved to do what she wanted. Hailey always had plots on plots and schemes on schemes, Always to help her hustle. Regardless of what she was doing she always tried to check in with her mom, who was her heaven on earth.
At the age of sixteen; Hailey met the Brandon, who would stay by her side no matter what, the true key holder of her heart. Brandon was the love of her life "till the day after forever". They were rarely seen apart. He was taken too soon as well, and it brings us peace knowing that they are reunited with each other and forever in love.
Hailey was a very special person to a lot of people. She had a very outstanding personality; known for her iconic phrases “gang gang” “that’s f’ed up” and “yo bro”. After saying those even if it was not funny, her infectious laughter caused everyone around her to laugh.
Hailey had such a beautiful smile, the type that lights up a room when she walks into it. Batting her beautiful green eyes got her anything she wanted. Hailey would always be seen in her iconic outfits; comfy sweats and a sweater, uggs or slides but never shoes. She could do her eye lashes on the bus with no mirror and only one hand. Her music was the one thing she loved more than her snacks which was a very close to second.
She was predeceased by her true love, Brandon Brust and his father Wally Brust Her best friends Levi Hood, Bobbi Brown and her dog Bella. Her grandparents Diane Chief, George Gajausky, Frank Kegl (papa), Kenny Wapash, Uncle Jimmy Keeper
Your life was a blessing; your memory, a treasure. We love you so much my sweet baby
She leaves behind to mourn her mom Jaclyn (Dustin) her father Jodie Chief and her siblings Corey(Devon), Emma (Jesse) and George(Ashlyn). She was her family’s keeper. Grandma Nini and niece Sarah Enierson and Laury Brust. Many more aunts, uncles and numerous cousins and friends. We will all deeply miss and appreciate the impact she left on our lives.
We would like to thank the doctors and nurses at St. Boniface Hospital ICMS unit for taking such good care of our Sweet Hailey.
