Hans Jehle

March 1, 1949 – November 16, 2022

After a lengthy illness, Hans Jehle was able to fulfill his wish and pass away at his home in St Andrews, Mb. He was 73 years young. Hans was a dynamic man who leaves a tremendous amount of people wishing they could have had one more get together and drink with him.

He will be forever remembered by his devoted wife Louise; son Grant (Maralee); daughters Lisa and Paula (Lane); grandchildren, Hannah, Emmett, Jack, Josh, Sam and Max. He was predeceased by his father John, mother Josephine, brother Rudy, sisters Paula and Frances. He is survived by his older sister Jo-Ann in Germany.

Hans grew up farming with his Dad. He enjoyed this way of life and it fueled his entrepreneurial spirit. Trucking, distribution and eventually applying Dust Control to municipal roads were all opportunities he pursued. In 1984 Hans, Louise and Grant formed what is today Fort Distributors Ltd a business of which he was very proud.

Anyone who met Hans instantly enjoyed his company. His natural charm and wit were delightful. Whether it was at social gatherings, business functions or on an airplane, Hans always found himself in the middle of the conversation. His story telling abilities were second to none. His memory of people, cars and places was truly remarkable. Hans sincerely enjoyed people and genuinely listened to their stories always without judgment.  Hans and Louise enjoyed many years of cabin life, motor homing and most recently a winter home in Florida. The fabulous number of friends they have made over the years is a true testament to a great team and a life well lived.

Hans truly loved life but most importantly loved living and it showed in everything he did and the friendships he shared. We will all miss him.

A private interment has taken place. A celebration of life will be held on Friday, August 4, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. in the Selkirk Recreation Centre Banquet Hall.
