Harvey Marriott Obituary

Harvey Marriott

December 14,1931 - May 5, 2021

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Harvey Joseph Marriott.

He was predeceased by his wife Irene Marriott; parents Tom and Lil Marriott; sister Isabel Palmer; brother-in-law Reg Palmer and nephew David Palmer.

He leaves to lovingly remember him his daughter and son-in-law Sandra Marriott-Silver and Dave Silver; son and daughter-in-law Jim Marriott and Karen Marriott; grandchildren Graham (Amanda), Kaitlyn (Daniel), Brent, and Camille (Ty). Also left to mourn are his nephew Randy Palmer (Marianne); niece Liz Palmer (Gary) (late nephews wife) Leona Palmer; cousin Margaret Backer and family. Also left to remember him are his Rusty zipper club friends and many other friends who he loved to get together with to play golf, cross country ski, rollerblade or just sit and talk with.

Harvey was born in St. Rose du Lac with the family moving on to Brandon and then in to  Winnipeg where he grew up and lived in St. James until retiring from a long career as an accountant for the Canada Revenue Agency. He and Irene moved out to Clandeboye to live the country life and did so for many years until his dementia was too much for her to manage and she sadly had to place him in a personal care home where he lived out the rest of his life.

He was a devoted, loving and generous son, husband, father, grandfather, uncle and friend, who will be missed by all who knew him.

We would like to thank all of the staff at Extendicare Red River Place for their care and compassion looking after him for the last 16 months.

Due to Covid 19 restrictions, in-person attendance at the funeral and interment will be by invitation only. Please join us for a virtual service on Tuesday, May 18th at 2:00 PM which can be viewed via the link https://youtu.be/hrx7l_ibvbc
