Helen Onyschuk (nee Buchkowski)

Sept 21, 1940 - June 3, 2025

We sadly announce the passing of Helen, who leaves behind husband Michael; daughters Wendy, Judy (Wayne) Skaritko, Debbie and Barbara; sister Olive (Joe) Gula, and brother Archie (Mona) Buchkowski; grand daughters Noelle, and Dana (Chad). Predeceased by parents Bella and Matthew Buchkowski; brother George and Gail Buchkowski; in laws Peter and Olga Capar, Minnie Taylor, Merlyn Onyschuk, and grandson Hunter Skaritko. She spent her final days surrounded by love and care after a period of illness.

Born in Komarno Helen dedicated her life to her family and community. She was a schoolteacher and childcare director and known for her talented calligraphy. Her kindness, wisdom, and gentle spirit touched all who knew her, leaving behind a legacy of love and warmth.

At Helen’s wishes there will be no service. Flowers gratefully declined. The family wishes to express sincere thanks to the WRHA for the excellent care she received, especially the home care.

Helen will forever remain in our hearts. May she rest in peace.
