Helen Stark Obituary

Helen Stark

March 10, 1946 - February 21, 2024

With great sorrow, we announce the passing of Helen Adeline Stark (nee Rawluk). She passed away surrounded by her loving family on February 21, 2024 at the Gimli Community Health Centre.

Helen lived her life humbly and at her own pace. Taking pleasure in nature, crafting, family time, and adventuring with Lance wherever the opportunity took them. Life was at ease when she was around.

Helen was born in Winnipeg on March 10, 1946. She spent most of her childhood in the Emesville area and a short time in Lake St. Martin. As a teenager she moved to Winnipeg with her parents William and Caroline, brothers and sisters Melvin, Arthur, Patricia, Ted, Shirley and Raymond. She attended Tec-Voc High School where she learned secretarial skills. She was proficient with short hand and was a valued employee at Canada Life Insurance and Ducks Unlimited as a Stenographer.

She joined in a loving marriage with Lance on June 4, 1966, starting their family, and becoming a Mother to Thane (Cheryl), Tammy (Terry), Ted (Kelly), and Tony (Brandy). Grandmother to nine, Great-Grandmother of six, all of whom will miss her dearly. Over the years, she called many places home. Thompson, Stoney Mountain, Teulon, LOW Kenora, Inwood and finally, Petersfield. Wherever she lived, she made home what it should be.

Family and friends will gather to celebrate her life and legacy in the coming summer months.
