Henry Neufeld
It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of our husband, father and opa at the age of 91 on Friday November 10, 2023, peacefully at his home in Selkirk surrounded by his loved ones.
Henry leaves behind his beloved wife Joan of 63 years; children, Kelly (Linda), Kerry (Norine) and Joanne (Arnie); grandchildren, Danielle, Bryant, John, Garth, Matthew, Kendra, Sean, and great grandson Dallas. He is also survived by his sister Mary and brothers-in-law, Jack (Joanne), and Fred (Karen), and sister-in-law Dawn (Harley) and numerous nieces and nephews.
Henry was predeceased by his parents Abram and Justina Neufeld, his siblings Joyce, Abe, Kay, Anne, John and Mert. His parents-in-law Jack and Siunn Turner and his grandson Myles.
Henry worked in autobody and on the family farm and then purchased Kruse Auto Body which he ran until he was 65. He then went back into private appraising well into his 80’s.
Dad was an avid hunter and fisherman and loved nothing better than camping with his family all over Manitoba until settling at Pie’s Landing in Ontario where the Neufeld Den was the gathering place for friends for decades.
Family, especially his grandchildren and his large group of friends were dad’s passion and joy. He lived life to the fullest and gave so much to everyone, expecting nothing in return. A truly great man.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the wonderful team of caregivers that cared for mom and dad in the last couple years and continue to care for mom now. Denise, Wendy, Treena, Lyndsay, Angie and Danielle. With their loving support dad was able to stay at home surrounded by his wife and family.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, November 20, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at Messiah Lutheran Church, at 400 Rouge Road, a luncheon to follow in the church hall. A recoding of the service is available with the following link https://www.facebook.com/share/v/kjEMiGKWWWvkMmqt/?mibextid=WC7FNe
