Ingveldur Mae Fryza
Ingveldur Mae Fryza, 88, passed away peacefully on December 9, at Betel Personal Care home in Selkirk. She was predeceased by her loving husband Charlie, daughter Evelyn, grandson Collin, and her parents Annie and Joe. Mae is survived by her children Bob, Andrew (Brenda), and her granddaughter Amber.
Mae will be remembered for her kindness and was always good natured. Her warm smile and friendly spirit will be remembered by everyone who knew her.
Mae grew up in Petersfield, where her family resided long enough to have a road named after them. She had a lifelong love of music and played the organ at St. George’s Anglican Wakefield Church for many years, inspiring her granddaughter to take piano lessons. She remained an active member at Christ Church in Selkirk where she was always willing to sing in the choir, bake a dish, or lend a hand. Charlie and Mae spent many years not only attending old-time dances but teaching dancing as well. Their house in Petersfield, where they lived for 44 years, was a home away from home for their kids and grandkids. It was the setting for countless family dinners, game nights, bonfires, afternoons spent baking and gardening, warm days on the beach, and cold nights skating on the creek.
The family would like to thank Betel Personal Care Home and all the staff for their care and support in looking after Mae.
A service will be held at a later date.
