J. Raymond Knott
January 6, 1940 – December 29, 2020
Peacefully on Tuesday, December 29, 2020, dad passed at the East Gate Lodge.
He is survived by daughter Sandra; son Dwayne (Leona); grandson Olin; son-in-law Orest; sisters Pat (Orval) Folster, Dorothy (Denis) Blake-Knox, and Alberta Thomas; brother Kevin Knott; sisters-in-law Blanch Louis, Valerie Linklater and Shirley Louis; brother-in-law Roger Lusty; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
He was predeceased by his beloved wife Velma (1978); his parents Annie and Albert; brothers Floyd and Morgan; nephew Glenn Knott; in-laws Ellen Lusty and Percy Louis.
Dad’s greatest joy was his only grandchild Olin, teaching him how to be strong, how to do the very best he could do in life. Together they fished, quadded, hunted and trapped, or just cruised the trails. Dad also loved watching his beloved Blue Jays and listening to music by the only singer in the world, Georgie Jones of course.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his name to the Alzheimer’s Society of Manitoba or to East Gate Lodge.
We would like to give special thanks to uncle Larry Hourie for the many visits to dad and to his dear friend Ross Orvis who made many trips to play crib. Both were truly a blessing. The family would like to thanks the many angels at East Gate Lodge for going above and beyond to have given our father the absolute best care. Thank you Dr. VanRansberg. Also thanks to Gilbart Funeral Home, Ray's tribute video may be viewed at the bottom of this page.
