Jake Gerald Niebel

April 25,1988 - January 29, 2024

With great sadness Jake passed away on January 29 in Edmonton, Alberta, after a sudden diagnosis of cancer. Survived by his father Doug (Liz), brother Luke, and sister Stephanie, nephew Kaiden, many aunts, uncles, and cousins. Jake was extremely close with his most favorite Uncle Ronald (Skippy), their time together in Edmonton and Fort Mac were memorable. Jake was pre-deceased by his mother Barbara, grandmothers Emily & Irene, grandfathers Gerald & Justin.

As a Class 1 driver, Jake enjoyed traveling and his time driving the winter ice roads for Hawkers Hauling and out west in the Alberta oil fields. As a young man, Jake worked hard and was proud of his many accomplishments. At home in Selkirk, he had fun with his friends and cousins working on his classic sports cars, taking care of his yard and house and could never understand why weeds grow tall so fast.  

His sudden passing came as a shock to his family and friends who loved him deeply. Jake had a much deeper side that he shared with his most trusted friends and family.
