Jean (Ginny) McConnell Obituary

JEAN (GINNY) AGNES McConnell

   May 17th, 1932 - July 15th, 2019

It is with heavy hearts we say good-bye to our beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. We take solace in knowing she was ready to journey home, after living with Alzheimers for many years. And we are grateful that Mom and Dad celebrated their 70th anniversary this past February 5th, a memory we will treasure always.
Mom will be forever remembered by her utterly devoted husband, Terry, sons Randy (Sue), Calvin (Michelle), daughters Terri-Lynn (David), Kathleen (Joe), grandchildren Ian (Jill), Kent (Priya), Adam (Natalie), Dustin, Leora, Eric,Chelsea, Danielle and great-grandchildren Taylor, Ella, Calleigh, Aiden, and Jaya.
Born to Howard and Ivy Campbell, Mom grew up on a farm with three brothers Jack, Keith, and Ricky, but her big sister, Shirley, was her lifelong best friend. They would trudge through the fields and snow banks to attend Stacpoole school. Later, they would finish their schooling in Teulon, while living in town with their beloved Grandma Bond. Mom was quite the historian, later in her life. She wrote exclusively about the Democrat, which was about the Campbell's journey to Canada.
Mom lived for her family, and the reward of seeing her children flourish. She gave us a love of books, of learning, and taught us that music feeds the soul. Countless life lessons were learned from her quiet spirit, her gentle wisdom, and helped us define who we might be in this world. And when we were grown, Mom found a new calling as a health care aide at Goodwin Lodge, inspiring us all with her fearlessness. We were so proud of you, Mom!
Dad, you were Mom's constant companion, her comfort, her one true love.  She knew you were there to the very end. How blessed we are as a family to have witnessed such a fierce love.
Love you forever, Mom. We will carry the best of you with us always. We will remember it all.

Ginny's Song (from Terry to Ginny sung in love each day)
Ginny Ginny I'll see you in my dreams tonight,
                       Ginny Ginny I love you,
And I know you love me, too.

A private family internment will take place. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Mom's honor to the Alzheimer Society of Manitoba.
