Jeffrey Edward Decock
December 27, 1962- June 6, 2026
 

It is with great sadness that our family shares the unexpected passing of Jeff on Saturday, June 6, 2026.

He was a loving father, papa, brother, uncle and a friend to many. His time here with us was taken away much too soon, at the age of 63

Jeff was born in Ste. Anne, Manitoba, the third of four children born to Ralph and Mabel Decock. He lived and grew up in Selkirk and he was the kind of guy who could go anywhere and always knew someone. Jeff worked at the Rolling Mills as a welder for 35+years where he made so many life long friends, and that continued well after his retirement in November 2020.
He was a devoted dad to his two children Samantha and Blair, and in recent years he was more often referred to as Papa. Jeff loved to chat with his grandchildren and always brought them chocolate bars when he popped in for a visit.
Jeff's passions in life were farming, hunting, fishing, camping and above all- spending time with friends and family. If there was a party, he had the meatballs rolled before you knew it. He was an excellent cook and never missed an opportunity to be a social butterfly.

Jeff leaves to mourn his passing, his daughter Samantha (Jon) Duch, son Blair (Jessica), brother Ron (Ronna), sisters Susan (Allan) Stutsky and Sandra (Paul) Starodub, his beautiful grandchildren; Madison, Daniel, Valerie and Zack; nieces Tracy and Celeste, and nephews, Brad (Tracy) and David. Special friend Shannon as well as many cousins and friends. He was predeceased by his parents, and his loving niece Roberta.

The family would like to thank the passerby who tried to help him, Stars Ambulance and Dr. Simon and staff at the Beausejour Hospital. 

Service to be held at Gilbart Funeral Home,  309 Eveline St, Selkirk on Saturday June 27, at 11:00 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Star's Ambulance, Alberta or Manitoba, where one day they may save your life, or the life of a loved one.
