Joanne Aileen Hardwick
May 26, 1958 – September 17, 2021
It is with broken hearts that the family announces the passing of Joanne. Joey passed peacefully at the Selkirk Regional Health Centre with the comfort of family and extended family at her bedside following a battle with cancer.
Jo/Joey/Joanne as she answered to any of those three names was a kind and generous woman who met life at her own pace. She was well loved and loved in return…she was a hugger. She had a great sense of humour and enjoyed socializing with family and friends. No special occasion required and always a wonderful hostess. She will be truly missed.
Joey had a curiosity for life which led her too many interests over the years including discovering new wines, winemaking, theatre, travel/cruises, gaming, reading in her own library, curling, and experimenting with recipes to name a few.
Joanne worked in the hospitality industry for many years returning to school to obtain a business administration degree. She worked in the construction industry following.
Joanne was predeceased by parents Jack and Ruth; and her brother John. She is survived by many cousins and friends.
The family would like to extend their thanks to the staff on the surgical/OR/ER wards, Dr. Anozie, Ed Tiaglie, Dr. Premtilake for their care this past week. Dr. R.R. Lindenschmidt and all the staff at the Cancer Care unit Selkirk, Cancer Care St. Boniface, Dr. Krahn, Dr. Buchel and Shirley. Selkirk Homecare, Shane Ballentyne, as well as her neighbours for all the help this past year.
Please donate to a charity of your choice if you wish.
