Johanna Sigridur Hjorleifson
(nee Thordarson)
December 25, 1921-July 4, 2019

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our amazing mother, amma, lang amma on July 4, 2019 at the Arborg Personal Care Home. She was with us for a wonderful 97 1/2 years.
Mom will always be loved and remembered by her daughters Gloria (Ernie) Johnson, Darlene (Bob) King, Linda (Ron) Proulx, Brenda (Harry) Schafer, Kathy Hjorleifson and their families also her chosen daughter Lorraine Zabirka. She also leaves 11 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren and 14 great great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Mom was predeceased by her husband Barney Hjorleifson, grandson Terry, her parents Helgi and Herdise plus all her siblings.
As per mom’s request, cremation has taken place and a private family graveside service will be held at the Gimli Community Cemetery.
We would like to thank Arborg PCH for the wonderful care and kindness given to her during her stay for the last three years.
In lieu of flowers if one so desires, donations to the Arborg PCH - Activity Director-in care of Karen.
