Obituary

John Gordon Dickson

It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of John Gordon Dickson, age 75, on May 30, 2025 in Selkirk, MB.

Dad was predeceased by his parents Frank & Isabel, his beloved wife Sherry & Cassie (retirement puppy).

He will be lovingly remembered by his children Tina (Brent), Shane (Roberta), and John; sister (Pat); sister-in-law Darlene (Bruce); his grandchildren Mercedes (Ernest), Cole (Shayanne), Faith (Andrew), Kaleb (Kate), Keianna (Jake), Wesley (Hailey), his 3 great-grandchildren, many nieces, nephews & cousins.

Dad was born in Lethbridge, AB.  He was raised on the family farm in Redcliffe, AB.  He moved his young family to Libau, MB in 1975 after he got a job where he worked as a red-seal welder for 25 years.  He moved to Highland Glen to be closer to family after Sherry passed. He decided he wanted to work operating heavy construction equipment till he retired.  During his retirement, he kept busy doing all of his favorite things: puttering in his shop, rebuilding old vehicles, going to car shows, drag races & tractor pulls. He enjoyed his annual trips down south.  He loved spending time with his family & he was so proud of all his children & grandchildren.  His most beloved achievement was becoming a Great-grandpa.  He was positive he was going to live another 20 years to become a great-great-grandpa.

We’ll always remember you Dad because there will never be another one to replace you. If love could have save you, you would still be with us.

Funeral Service will be held on Monday, June 9, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. in the Gilbart Funeral Chapel in Selkirk, MB.
