John Klatt (Brown)
It is with deep sorrow we announce the tragic and sudden passing of John Walter Klatt (Brown) on Thursday, April 2, 2026 at the age 33 years old.
John is survived by his loving mom and dad Joanne and Arnie Brown; siblings Danielle and Matthew; nephews and niece Dallas, Elijah and Sapphire; nana Shirley Brown; uncles and aunts Kelly (Linda), Kerry (Norine) and Drew; cousins Bryant, Garth, Kendra, Sean, Reece and Tara. Also his Klatt family Martin, Gabrielle, Georgia, Mae, Graham, gramma Gert, papa Duke, auntie Shannon (Perry), auntie Cara and the cousins.
John was predeceased by his big brother Myles Brown who he missed dearly. His opa and oma Henry and Joan Neufeld and his grampa Clyde Brown
John was a kind and caring gentle man with a very big heart. He was very family orientated and was very attached to his nephews and niece who always had a special place in his heart.
John was born on Feb. 15, 1993 and grew up in St. Andrews and always lived there or as an adult in Selkirk. He started working for the family construction business when he was 15. He devoted himself to growing the business and starting Selkirk soil. When his health took a turn he stepped back, but his business was always his biggest accomplishment and his pride and joy. One of John’s favorite events was the Selkirk Rodeo parade. Driving his mini bike handing out candy and representing Brown and Sons was something he prepped for every year.
John was always focused on helping. His family his friends, or even a random guy. Even when he struggled he would still share what he had with others.
John battled addiction from a young age. He fought his demons daily and went for long periods winning. In the end it overtook him. God has decided to end his suffering here on earth and take him home to Heaven. He will be pain free now and is fishing with his opa and reunited with his big brother. He has left a huge hole in the hearts of his family and his close friends and his absence will be felt by many.
A Memorial Service will be held on Sunday, April 19, 2026 at 4:30 p.m. in the Gilbart Funeral Chapel, Selkirk, MB.
