JOHN DOUGLAS MACLEOD

January 26, 1934 – March 15, 2025

Peacefully on Sunday, March 15, 2025, at River East Personal Care Home, John “Jack” Douglas MacLeod passed away at the age of 91 years.

Predeceased by his wife of 58 years, Olive (Thorvaldson), John leaves to mourn his passing, his children Peggy (Ken Gibson), Karlene (Kent Johnston), Doug (Candace), Ken (Desiree); his grandchildren Josh (Allanna), Kyle (Beth), Derek (Steph), Brett (Caitlin), Mila (Gavin), Keaton (Candace), Kiefer (Sasha); his great grandchildren James, Ian, Kaly, MacEverett, Madison and Jordyn. Also left to cherish John’s memory are his siblings; Betty, Albert (Fern) as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

John was also predeceased by his son John Wayne; his parents Albert Lewis, Almira Ethel (Chambers); his sisters Jean (Isfeld), Joan (Page); his brothers James, Archie and Ed.

John was born in Winnipeg, MB and raised in the Interlake area. He was a quick learner, and although he left school at any early age, he became a skilled worker where he successfully supported a family of seven.

John leaves behind a legacy of hard work, quiet strength, and unconditional love. He will be profoundly missed and forever remembered by his family, friends, and all those who had the privilege of knowing him.
