Joseph Jean-Guy Savoie
It is with great sadness we announce the peaceful passing of our beloved father, grandfather & great-grandfather Guy Savoie on February 21, 2025 at the Selkirk Regional Health Centre.
Guy was born on March 30, 1940 to Antonin and Marie-Jeanne (Bohemier) in St. Boniface the second youngest of 9 children. He was loving, generous, resilient and mischievous.
Guy and Barbara (Nevin) were married on January 9, 1965 and together had 5 children. They lived in Winnipeg, Lorette and then settled in Cooks Creek where Dad was involved with the Knights of Columbus and Cooks Creek Heritage Museum at St. Michael’s Church.
Dad had many jobs over the years including being a draftsman, head of the Construction and Safety Departments at Cargill. Eventually he was able to live out his dream of opening his own shop Savoie Mechanical. All the kids put in some time working in his shop but it was Peter who would eventually work side by side with Dad.
Dad will be lovingly remembered by his wife Barbara, children Dave & Susan, Bruce & Tarra, Peter & Allie, Nicki & Sean Bracken, grandchildren Patricia (Keith), Christopher (Danielle), Rhyan, Ashtyn, Larry (Jean-Ashley), Owen, Onyx, Emily and great-grandchildren Luci & Eli.
