Josh Gerry Orvis (Bangert), age 22, of Selkirk, Manitoba, passed away on November 22, 2025, surrounded by love

He was born on August 8, 2003, in Selkirk, and from the beginning brought a bold spirit, quick wit, humour, and honesty into the world. Josh had a presence people remembered; real, straightforward, funny, and always unapologetically himself. Gaming was Josh’s world and his way of connecting with others. He loved nu-metal music, especially Korn, Deftones, and Grandson. He cared deeply for the people closest to him and built genuine connections throughout his life that will be treasured forever.

Josh will be cherished forever by his loving, devoted mom Kylie, his loving, supportive dad Jeff, and his incredible siblings Kingston, Ariyah, and Tatum. He will be deeply missed by his nanny Debbie, his granny Anne (Tom), his grandma Diane, auntie Jaymie (Joey), auntie Darcy (Joee), uncle Russ (Jen), and his cousins Avery, Brooklyn, Junior, and his fur cousin Hank. He will also be missed by his amazing caregiver and friend Jenna. Josh is also remembered with love by numerous other family members and friends who held a special place in his life.

He is now with his Pa Gerry Orvis, his Grandfather Albert Bangert, and his best friend and cousin Korbin, who meant the world to him.

A Celebration of Josh’s Life will be held on Thursday, December 4th at 1:00 PM at Gilbart Funeral Home in Selkirk, where family and friends are invited to honour the extraordinary person he was. His music, his humour, his gaming, and the things he loved will all be part of this day exactly as Josh would have wanted.
