In loving memory of Joyce Hourie

 September 16, 1950 – November 7, 2021

Beloved mother of Sandra (Shampoo) Sinclair, loving grandma of Anita Reynolds, much loved great-grandma of Damien Paul- Reynolds. Loving sister to Tommy Prince Sr. , Beverly Prince, Beryl Prince, Karen Braun-Prince, Stuart Prince and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Predeceased by father Kenneth Chief and mother Verna Sinclair, siblings Carl Sinclair, Kendrich Leavonworth, Kim Colomb and grandson Matthew Reynolds.

Joyce was born in the big house where the Elders Lodge now stands. She grew up on Brokenhead Reserve. Joyce had a beautiful smile and great sense of humor. She was full of laughter and jokes. She gave out many hugs to people she knew. She was a wonderful baker of cookies, cakes and lemon meringue pie. She was known for her yummy soups and bannock. The coffee pot was always on. Joyce was talented and could make beautiful hand stitched clothing and baby blankets. she loved music.

Joyce passed away peacefully on November 7, 2021 in Parkview Place, Winnipeg, MB. Many thanks to the nurses, staff and doctors who cared for Joyce since 2018.

She will be greatly missed by many who knew and loved her so much.

Wake will be held at the Private Tom Chief Memorial Hall, Brokenhead Reserve at 2:00 p.m. on November 13, 2021.

Service will be held at the Private Tom Chief Memorial Hall, Brokenhead Reserve, at 12:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. November 14, 2021.
