With deep love and heavy hearts, the family of Karen Pepin announces her sudden passing on February 1, 2026, at her home, at the age of 75.

          Karen will be lovingly remembered by her partner of 15 years, Wayne Macumber; her son Christopher Feusse (Tanis); grandchildren Celena, Justin and Debra; her sisters, Terry Jameson (John) and Rosie Zubriski (Phil); her aunt, Adele Pepin; as well as numerous nieces and nephews, cousins and extended family and friends.

          She was predeceased by her parents, Beatrice Hurrell (Raymond) and Walter Hourie; as well as her sister Sandee, and brothers Peter, Mark and Nelson.

          Karen was always busy. She loved giving gifts. She’d wrap up gifts for her sisters and tell them if they didn’t want it, they could give it back to the Goodwill. She loved to cook and bake. Karen loved singing along to country music while having a few drinks.

          Karen and Wayne met in 2010 when he moved into her apartment block. She introduced herself and the relationship began. They spent time second hand store shopping (her favourite Twice Over), yard sale and flower shopping, and fishing … he caught his first and only catfish with Karen … and barbecuing out back of the apartment block next to the flowers and trees she planted there. Karen loved spending time with Wayne out at Sandee’s cabin.

         Karen was “over the top” when her son Christopher and granddaughter Celena were able to visit last Thanksgiving. It made her year!

                   A little bit of fishing, a little bit of green,

                   The sweetest soul that we’ve ever seen.

                   She fed us well with a loving hand,

                   And listened to country music from across the land.

                   Though she has left this earthly shore,

                   Her love remains, forevermore.

Karen’s Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
