It is with great sadness that the family announces the sudden passing of Kenneth Michael Allard on Sunday Aug. 10, 2025 at the age of 70.
He was predeceased by his parents Paul and Sarah (nee Trumbla) Allard, as well as his infant grandson Dylan Wall. His is survived by his children and families: Lisa (Sheldon) Wall, Stacie (David) Cwiak, Jonathan (Jena) Allard; grandchildren Riley, Alexa, Talia, Parker, Brooklynn, and Owen; his brother Gary (Alicja), nieces Michelle (Dan) and Nicole (James); former spouse Laura Allard; numerous cousins across Canada; and the mother of his children, Catherine Allard.
Dad loved his family and he was very excited for the anticipation of another grandbaby to come in Sept. 2025.
Ken was the oldest of two brothers and grew up in Winnipeg in the St. Boniface and Riverview areas. He attended Our Lady of Victory Catholic School, serving as an altar boy at Holy Cross Parish.
He also spent time at the family farm in Lido Plage with numerous relatives and cousins, especially Luc Allard. Many road trips were taken with his cousin Roy Zastre. As a teenager, Ken worked for his Uncle Carl at BEM TV, delivering TV’s to all the relatives and bonding with his cousin Keith Trumbla.
Dad's passion was music and playing guitar. He taught guitar lessons in his early 20's and fondly recalled those years. He and his brother Gary loved listening to the Beatles and some of their most bonding moments were of playing those songs together. Dad always hoped to retire and go back to teaching guitar one day.
Dad graduated from the University of Manitoba in 1987 and worked as a certified general accountant for 29 years with Veterans Affairs Canada.
He briefly moved to British Columbia from 2006-2010 and worked in Vancouver with Procurement Canada. He bought a boat and got to experience life on the coast. Dad had always enjoyed the lake and spent many days in his youth sailing and water skiing and just being out on the water.
He retired from accounting in 2018.
Dad eventually moved back to Manitoba to be closer to his growing family. He settled just north of Winnipeg and sought out a part-time job at a car dealership, which continued his lifelong enthusiasm for classic cars. His favourite car was a Ford Mustang. He also was employed by Vidir in Teulon and very much enjoyed his time there, especially working with Henry Friesen.
Dad saw his three children get married and start families of their own. His grandchildren were so precious to him and he loved them dearly. He was also very grateful to have such a close relationship with his brother.
Dad reconnected with his faith through the healing power of music. He prayed every day and we know he's in heaven now with Jesus.
Dad, this was a sudden goodbye and there are so many things left unsaid. We'll see you again one day, but until then we will cherish all the memories. Your soul is at peace and you can fly among the angels.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, September 2, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. in the Notre Dame Roman Catholic Church in Selkirk, Manitoba. A luncheon will follow in the Church Hall.
Psalm 4:8:
"In peace I will lie down and sleep, for you alone, O Lord, make me dwell in safety."
