Kenneth Peterson Obituary
Kenneth Geoffrey Peterson
It is with profound sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Kenneth (Kenny Boy) Peterson.
On April 10th, 2026, with friends and family by his side, he peacefully took his last breaths.
Kenny was born and raised in Selkirk, Manitoba, before moving to Winnipeg. Growing up, he took on the role of oldest sibling very seriously and was often labeled the “worry wart” while looking after his sisters and brother.
Kenny was a musical genius (don’t tell him we said that or it would go straight to his head). He would often remind us of this by saying, “don’t you know who I am? I’m a rockstar”. He spent his life making and sharing music in numerous bands such as Hangman, Crosstown, Laserstreet, Stranger and Fugitive to name a few. You could always count on Kenny to tell a story of his times on the road with his childhood friend Gordon Boyce, who he was so happy to have recently reconnected with. We could always count on these stories to make the whole room erupt into laughter because of their crazy antics. Anytime a guitar was around, Kenny had it in his hand playing riffs or writing songs with his brother Bobby.
Kenny also enjoyed playing video games, specifically “Zombies” and had a strict no plans on Friday rule, as that was game night with the guys.
Kenny was a loving and devoted husband, son, grandson, brother, uncle, nephew and cousin. He was loved and cherished beyond measures by everyone he met and often described as the life of the party. He is survived by his wife Susan Peterson and their Cat Pepsi, his siblings Kimberly Peterson, Kerri-Dawn Yuskow (Derrick) and Bobby Peterson (Corrie), his nieces and nephews, Dana Powell (Travis), Nathon Kruk (Deanna), Samantha Peterson, Mckenna Yuskow (Matt), Keaton Yuskow (Hailey) and Jorden Peterson, sister in law Sharon Malowany (Doug), best friends Paulzy Gribbon, Eric Wientzek and Carlos Rodriguez, and numerous other aunts, uncles, cousins, great nieces and nephews and friends. He is preceded in death by his father Kenneth Peterson, mother Gladys Peterson and his cats Monsieur and Deuce. He will be greatly missed and has left a hole than cannot be replaced.
A celebration of life will be held on July 19th, 2026 at the Holy Eucharist Hall (Bologna Gardens) 500 Pacific Avenue,Selkirk, Manitoba, starting at 2:00PM. In honour of Kenny, we will enjoy his favourite foods and a live band will be playing. So bring a guitar or your instrument of choice and come have one last Jam session with Kenny.
