Kenneth James Schmidt
August 11, 1950 - July 13, 2025

It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of our beloved father, grandfather, uncle and friend, Ken Schmidt, who passed away with family by his side, July 13, 2025 at St. Boniface Hospital at the age of 74.

He is pre-deceased by his father, Fred, his mother, Olga and his brothers, Douglas and Donald.

Ken was born in Selkirk, Mb on August 11, 1950. He grew up on the family farm in Libau, Mb and carried out the rest of his days on the same property his parents once lived. He started working at the Manitoba Rolling Mills (Gerdau) in the late sixties and retired October 1, 2009. Dad’s work ethic and dedication showed in everything he did. He was devoted to his family and enjoyed spending time with all of us, especially his granddaughter, Ava.

He will be lovingly remembered by his children, David and Crystal (Rick) and his granddaughter Ava (Leland).

His laughter, spirit and caring presence will be missed by all that had the privilege of knowing him.
