Kimberley McRae Obituary

Kimberley Joyce McRae

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing our beloved daughter, sister and aunt Kimberley Joyce McRae.

She touched many hearts in her lifetime and also physically with her hugs! And if you were lucky enough you’ve received one or more from her.

Left to mourn her are her parents, Lawrence and Emily, sister Alana Kobak and husband John and her precious nephew and niece Brendan and Amber Poloway. She is also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins and very dear friends.

Kim was predeceased by her grandparents Roy and Lena McRae, Mike and Minnie Romanica (Baba) with whom she shared a very close bond.

Kim in her younger years thoroughly enjoyed belonging to the Daerwood Sea Cadet Corps.

She began her career at Middlechurch Home of Winnipeg as a recreational facilitator. Where she spent 35 years with her residents. She loved her job and adored her residents and they adored her as well.

Kim said “retirement” was the best job she ever had.

She spent much of her time with her family and friends. She really enjoyed the family dinners and the card games played after.

She will be forever missed, never forgotten and always, always in our hearts. Kim was a very kind, considerate and gentle soul to everyone she met.

We would like to thank Sean Wiens, Selkirk Fire Department, the Selkirk RCMP, Paramedics and Gilbart Funeral Home for their kindness and compassion.

In keeping with her wishes, cremation has taken place and a gathering to celebrate Kim’s life will be held on Tuesday, April 21, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. in the Gilbart Funeral Chapel, Selkirk. The service will be livestreamed via the following link https://youtube.com/live/OD4B3P6cu8s?feature=share
