Leslie Lalchun
1954 - 2025
Leslie Daniel Lalchun was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba where he lived all his life. He completed his life’s journey on June 28, 2025, with his loving family by his side.
Les was the eldest son of Shirley and Bill Lalchun and is survived by his siblings, Gary (Audrey), Donna (Cal) and Sandy (Bernie); grandsons Thomas Jr. and Jesse and great grandson, Maverick. Les married Eunice (nee Hamilton) in Selkirk, in 1974 and they had one daughter Jennifer, who predeceased him in 2023.
Les lived his life to the fullest. He was fearless, daring, and adventurous. He travelled widely to Cuba, Mexico, Arizona, and Thailand, making many friends along the way.
Les had a number of skills but his real strength lay in sales. For many years he worked as a car salesmen followed by a stint working as an insurance representative. He was an extravert, friendly, knowledgeable, and interested in political affairs. He could speak intelligently, had fresh ideas, and added sparkle and humor to any discussion. For the last few years Les donated his spare time to the Holy Eucharist Ukrainian Catholic Church in East Kildonan. He usually returned home with a few bags of perogies which he shared with his friends.
The family wishes to express appreciation and gratitude to the staff at the Health Sciences Centre for the professional and compassionate care they provided for Les.
The family will honor Leslie’s wish that there be no funeral service. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada, P.O. Box 2414, Toronto, Ontario, M4P 1E4.
