Malvina Rose Richardson

Malvina Rose Richardson, age 81, passed away quietly on January 1, 2026, at Gimli Community Health Centre in Gimli, Manitoba after a short but recurring illness.

She was born in Winnipeg but made Gimli her home, working at New Horizons and various volunteer organizations. She will be missed by her family and many, many friends for her infectious positive outlook, her sassy comebacks, and her love for playing bingo (God forbid you should miss a number on your card). She was an avid bowler and participated in the Special Olympics several times.

She was the last of her immediate family having been predeceased by her mother, Agnes Richardson, her sister Gail Filby, and her brother Wayne Richardson.

Thanks to Jackie, Stacie and the staff at Community Bridges Gimli, and to the staff at Gimli Hospital, Arborg Hospital, and IERHA for their kindness.

A special thanks to Aunty Doe for being her emotional support for so many years.

In keeping with her wishes, Malvina is to be cremated and when the weather is better in the spring, her ashes will be placed beside her mother whom she loved. There will be a small graveside ceremony at that time
