Margaret (Peggy) Janisch (née Fisher)

Margaret (Peggy) Janisch (née Fisher), age 80, passed away peacefully on May 16, 2026.

 Margaret was born in Selkirk, Manitoba, and spent much of her life in Petersfield, Manitoba, where she raised her family and built many lasting friendships within the community.

 She was predeceased by her husband Raymond in 2023.

 Margaret will be deeply missed by her daughter Theresa (Fred) and her son Tony (Claudie); her grandchildren Lily-Anne (Dylan), Annabelle, and Sébastien; and her great-grandchildren Madelyne and Anastasia.

 Margaret was one of eleven brothers and sisters and remained closely connected to her large family including many nieces and nephews throughout her life.

 She was a warm and friendly person who genuinely enjoyed talking with people and being part of her community. She worked a number of local jobs over the years, including one she especially enjoyed at the local community store, where she appreciated the daily conversations and connections with others.

 Margaret found great joy in caring for her family in thoughtful and practical ways. She loved gardening and planting flowers, and every fall she enjoyed canning and preserving food for those she loved. In her later years, she developed a passion for knitting and quilting. She lovingly created handmade quilts for her children, grandchildren, and several of her brothers and sisters, often giving them as cherished Christmas gifts.

 She will be remembered for her kindness, warmth, creativity, and the quiet ways she cared for the people around her.

 The family would like to sincerely thank the staff at Red River Extendicare in Selkirk, Manitoba, for their care, compassion, and support during her final years.

 A celebration of Margaret’s life will be held this fall.  Details to be announced at a later date.
