Cecile Eva Marie Greyeyes

  It is with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn the passing of Cecile Eva Marie Greyeyes, of Scanterbury, Manitoba. Born on November 24, 1948, after her brief battle with cancer, Marie passed away on March 20, 2023, at the age of 74 years. Marie was predeceased by her parents, Edith and Roger Quirion.

  She will be lovingly remembered by her husband Walter; her daughter Liseanne; her siblings Donna, Roger, and Billy; her aunties Eileen, Maureen and Audrey as well as numerous relatives and friends across Canada.

In her younger years, she was a trucker girl, and wasn’t afraid to get dirty. After meeting her husband in 1985, she spent many years working by his side up north. Anyone who knew Marie, knew she loved all animals, but she had a special affection for her cats. She also really enjoyed, bingo and karaoke. She spent a lot of time with her friends and family singing karaoke in rural Manitoba. Marie was a sweet, friendly, and feisty lady, and she will be truly missed by all that knew her.

A viewing will be held on Monday March 27, 2023 from 10:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. in the Gilbart Funeral Home 309 Eveline Street, Selkirk Manitoba. Cremation to follow.

A small service and luncheon will take place later this spring in Brokenhead.
