Maureen Jill Spence 

February 28th, 1960 - September 22nd, 2021

All who knew Maury would agree that she was a local legend, the mold was broken when she entered this world.

Her charisma, signature walk and award winning smile endeared us all.

Maury was born and lived her life in Selkirk, MB. Always surrounded by family and friends, her younger years were full of fun. Tag football on her front lawn, skating on Little Lake Pond or arguing over golf scores on the links.

Later she was drawn to baseball with her Weekenders team and Mushka with the gang. She may have attended a few beer garden festivities at some of these baseball tournaments. Another lure for her was Lockport, lucky enough it was where she met her life partner Craig.

After a stint at Success Business College she became a success! A newspaper gal, like her dad. Where she made even more friends.

A monumental year for her was in 1993, the year her daughter Randi was born. Suffice to say her love for her girl was fierce.

Maury should have probably made it to Broadway, instead she entertained us all with her singing, dancing, joking and that infectious laugh.

American Pie was her signature song. Luckily for us she did have the chance to make us people dance, and made us happy for awhile.

We will always carry your memory in our hearts. When you get to heaven Maury - raise a little hell!

Sadly missed and cherished by her life partner Craig, her daughter Randi, her mother Noreen, brothers Randy (Lindsay) and Rod (Joanne), her nieces and nephews and many family and friends. Maureen was predeceased by her father Dudley.

A graveside service will be held at St. Clements Anglican Cemetery on Saturday, October 9th at 2:00 p.m. Following, friends and family can join to raise a glass at the Army and Navy at 231 Clandeboye Ave. Selkirk.
