Mikaela Mary Ann La Pratt

On July 9, 2026 we lost a beautiful soul. Mikaela Mary Ann La Pratt (26) was found at home passed away after having a seizure.

Born to Tanya La Pratt and Derek Kosolofski, on January 26, 2000 in Selkirk, Manitoba. Mikaela was a very proud aunt to Cairo and Markas, they were her two favourite people and she loved spending as much time with them as she could. She was a talented artist with the ability to make you laugh with her silly and dark sense of humour. Having been diagnosed with epilepsy she struggled for many years with regular seizures. Unfortunately, her epilepsy got the better of her this time. She was a strong woman, but Creator decided it was time she had a break from fighting and brought her home.

Mikaela will be lovingly remembered by her mother, Tanya, and father, Derek; sister, Brandy; her two nephews, Cairo and Markas; her great aunt Nalda; and aunt Leah.

A Celebration of her life will be held on Friday, July 24, 2026 at 2:00 p.m. in the Gilbart Funeral Chapel, Selkirk, MB. The service will be livestreamed via the following link https://youtube.com/live/Y3EMsq0842c

The family appreciate and thank you for the condolences and support in this difficult time of grieving. She was an amazing, funny, loving young woman who is gone too soon.
