Nadine Richards Obituary

Nadine Ruth Richards

(nee Sexton)

In the early morning hours of May 1, 2022 while Nadine listened to the hymn The Old Rugged Cross she changed her cross to a crown surrounded by her family at the age of 92 years. Nadine was a loving wife for 53 years to Pastor Stanton Richards. Nadine was born on August 21, 1929 in Idaho Falls, Idaho to Aarel and Bessey Sexton. She had 2 brothers, 5 sisters and 2 that died in infancy.

Nadine was predeceased by her parents, Aarel and Bessey Sexton, her husband Stanton Richards, daughter Ruth Ann Harris, sons Norman and Maurice Richards, foster daughter Stephanie McKay, plus all her siblings.

Nadine, lived in various states as she was growing up and then after her marriage she lived in Iowa until she moved to Canada in 1967. Later becoming a citizen of Canada while she was living in Selkirk.

Nadine was always a caring and nurturing person. She always had a helping hand for all. If she wasn’t caring for children, she was caring for animals. Over the years her children saw pets from pigs, racoons, rabbits, guinea pigs, dogs, and cats in their home.

Nadine was always that woman who stood behind her man. She helped Stanton in his many parishes with teaching Sunday School, Vacation Bible School and playing music. Always making sure that things on the home front were taken care of so Stan could do his work as a good pastor to his parishes.

Nadine’s love and affection will be seriously missed by her surviving children, David (Elaine) Laire, Gary Richards, Marianne (Terry Sarich), Aaron Richards and son-in-law Philip Harris, foster daughter Cheyenne Williams, 14 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and 3 great, great grandchildren.
