Palmi Einar Valdimar Hjorleifson

On Monday, September 27th, 2021, Palmi Hjorleifson, aged 64 years of Gimli, Manitoba passed away.

He was predeceased by his father Einar, mother Blanche, and brother David.

Palmi is survived by his daughter Tiffany (Dustin); special companion Sarah; grandchildren, Justin, Katie, and Andrew; brothers Dan, and Mark (Joyce); life long friend Jeff Hadfield; cousins Ken and Janet, many more lifelong friends, and of course, Pussycat.

Palmi was born in Vancouver, B.C. on January 29th 1957. He spent many years in Cache Creek, BC, Fort McMurray AB, and Edmonton AB before settling in Gimli Mb.

Palmi was a gifted artist from a young age and carried through his entire life. His artistic nature led him to the auto body industry which he worked in for many years as an accomplished body man and painter. In his later years he worked alongside his brother at the ‘Boat Shop’ refinishing boats and detailing new boats. Some great times and crazy stories. He was a perfectionist and always very particular in his work.

Palmi was always his own man and lived his life his way. He was a very kind and giving man, and if you made friends with Palmi, you made a friend for life. He was very proud of his daughter and grandchildren and very happy to be around them.

Palmi had an outrageous sense of humour that would keep you laughing for days after. The master of “shock humour” and was quite competitive with his brother in that.

Cremation has taken place, and a small gravesite gathering will take place at Riverton Cemetery on Monday, October 4th at 2:00 p.m.

Palmi, you will be missed dearly and remembered with love by all who were fortunate enough to be in your life.
