Paul Riesterer
It is with broken hearts we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father, son and brother Paul on August 15th, 2025, after a hard, brave and resilient battle with cancer. Gone too soon at the tender age of 41.
He is survived by his wife Kristi, children Kaiden, Nolan and Aubree, parents Karen and Fred, brother Michael (Kenia) and many extended family members. He also leaves behind many friendships he acquired throughout the years as well as his Costco Family.
Paul was born in Winnipeg on January 19th, 1984. He was a happy child, who loved being creative, and building things. He had a mischievous side and was always pranking his little brother. Paul graduated from Lord Selkirk Regional Comprehensive Secondary School in 2002 and explored his interests in carpentry to indulge his creative side, eventually pursuing a career at Costco.
Paul met the love of his life Kristi in 2006, and they quickly became inseparable. The following year they began their family with the birth of their son Kaiden. Paul was a natural and he flourished in fatherhood. They quickly added Nolan to the family, and Paul strived to build the boys a future and a life they deserved.
Paul and Kristi dedicated themselves to each other and got married on August 11th, 2012. After their wedding, they honeymooned in the Dominican, coming home with a positive pregnancy test. Aubree completed the family, and Paul was so proud of his bright-eyed little girl. Paul loved his family dearly.
Paul and Kristi soon built their forever home where their family resided in East Selkirk. Paul was meticulous and took pride in both his home, and his acreage where his passion for landscaping was evident.
Paul loved the outdoors and was a passionate Winnipeg Jets and Bombers fan. He enjoyed taking camping trips with his family, and recently settled in a seasonal lot. He enjoyed bonfires, and the peace of being outdoors. He loved to fish and took his family on many adventures. He recently took up ice fishing with his friend Wally, and that brought him joy during the last few years.
Paul loved food and was an excellent cook. Many weekends and holiday family dinners were spent at the house, and the trailer.
Paul found comfort spending time with his dog and support companion, Luna, who the family adopted during his first stay in the hospital. Paul fought so hard to be with his family as long as he could. He will be here in spirit watching over them. He was an inspiration through his battle and touched the hearts of so many people through his short life.
The family kindly requests that all his friends and relatives take a few minutes to honour his memory by sharing photos, memories, and stories.
