Peter Martin Lowrie

January 7, 1941 - June 27, 2025

We are saddened to announce that at the age of 84, after a short illness, Peter peacefully passed away at the Selkirk Regional Health Centre.

Peter will be forever remembered and deeply missed by his loving wife Margaret of 63 years; son Stephen (Denise) and granddaughter Stephanie; son-in-law Wayne, grandchildren Andrew (Nicole), Laura (Drew), Haleigh and great-granddaughter Lily; brother Alastair; and family residing in England, Sweden and the United States.

Peter was predeceased by his daughter Susan who he loved and missed terribly, brother Don, and sister-in-law Joan.

Peter was born and raised in Darlington, England where he married Margaret and had his children. His employment in the steel industry brought his family to Canada in 1966. They lived in Oshawa, Ontario, St. Bruno, Quebec and finally in 1977 he moved his family to Selkirk, Manitoba. For over 30 years, until his retirement, Peter dedicated his career to Gerdeau Ameristeel.

As a young man, Peter enjoyed running marathons.

Peter enjoyed watching all sports especially soccer, reading, and travelling the world with the love of his life, Margaret.

Extended heartfelt thank you to Dr. Brown, CancerCare, and the nurses and staff on Med/Surg and Medicine 2 at the Selkirk Regional Health Centre for your compassionate care.

As per Peter’s wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be a private service for family and close friends.

In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in Peter’s name to CancerCare Manitoba or the Winnipeg Humane Society.

We miss you so much. Always to be remembered.
