Pierre Arthur Brandelius
Aug. 4, 1931 – Oct. 3, 2021
Pierre Arthur Brandelius was born and raised in San Francisco, California. He led a varied career there as a life guard and swim instructor, a mechanic, and a bartender as well as working for the gas company and then for the Parks and Recreation Department of the city of San Francisco. After his retirement there, he moved to Canada and settled in our lovely Winnipeg Beach. Here Pierre worked for the town of Winnipeg Beach for a number of years and also developed his own lawn care business. After his second retirement, Pierre became very involved in Gimli’s Aspire Theatre as well as our local sacred circle dance group. It was at circle dance where he met his loving wife, Rachel.
Pierre is survived by his wife Rachel Brandelius; his daughter Stephanie Brandelius; his son Peter Brandelius and grandchildren, Jarrod, Wendy, Jess and Dean; as well as step-children Rob Anderson (Amber), Amy Wall and Maureen Anderson (Kyle); along with grandchildren Estelle (Aman), Devin, Rebecca, Jocelyn and Lauren.
Cremation has taken place and in accordance with his wishes, there will be no service.
Thank you to the wonderfully kind and caring staff at the Seven Oaks Kidney Clinic. A great big shout out of gratitude and love to all the staff at Gimli Hospital for their kind, compassionate care for Pierre during his final days there.
