Scott Nerbas
It is with great sadness we announce the sudden passing of (Roderick) Scott Nerbas on March 17, 2025 at 51 years of age.
Scott was predeceased by his father, Rod Nerbas, uncles Wayne Densmore and Vere Scott, grandparents Kay and Albert (Scotty) Scott and Louise and Rudolf Nerbas.
Scott is survived by his mother Dianne Nerbas, his two children Hailey and Hope, their mother Jennifer, brother Michael (wife Tammy, children Schaan and Emily), cousin Humus Scott and his son George of Victoria, B.C., aunt Carol Densmore of Roblin, Manitoba.
Scott was born in Selkirk, Manitoba on January 29, 1974. During his childhood, it was soon clear that sports would be an important part of his life. From collecting hockey and baseball cards, to watching and recording all types of sports broadcasts, he was the person to go to for any sports trivia questions. His love of sports continued when he was blessed with his two beautiful daughters, Hailey and Hope. He would attend all of their sporting events and watch with pride every time. Scott loved his daughters more than anything. They were his greatest accomplishment and the biggest source of joy in his life.
Through his life, Scott was a gentle soul, just like his dad, and was always a calming influence to be around. You could talk to him for hours and it would feel like minutes. Spending summers at Star Lake, playing baseball, swimming and listening to Toronto Blue Jay games on the radio were some of his favourite childhood pastimes. He was a valued, hard-working 30 year employee of Extra Foods/Superstore. He could always be depended upon to do a top notch job and to train others to his high standards. Scott was a wonderful man and will be deeply missed by all.
A public service will be held at Gilbart Funeral Home, Selkirk, MB on Friday, April 11, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. Feel free to honour Scott by wearing your favourite sports apparel to the service.
