Ron Sitka
June 7, 1940 – March 30th, 2025
Peacefully on March 30th, 2025 at the age of 84 years young Ron passed away at Selkirk Regional Health Centre after a brief illness surrounded by family.
He is survived by his loving wife Vi of 63 years, children Debbie (Burt) and Terry (Lydia), 5 grandchildren, and 7 great-grandchildren.
He was born and raised in Selkirk and employed at Varta Batteries and Black Cat Blades. He loved country music, golfing, fishing, butterfly crafts, camping, garage sales and Rumoli. Although he faced many health challenges later in life, he never gave up. He eventually traded in his Red Rocket for his red scooter so he could scoot around town to find deals while garage saling, or to pick up a coffee at McDonald’s.
A very special thanks to all who visited in hospital and sent their prayers. Also the home care workers and all the medical professionals who assisted in his care.
A service will be held at Gilbart Funeral Chapel, Selkirk on Saturday, April 12, 2025 at 1:00 p.m. followed by a interment at the Holy Eucharist Cemetery.
