Obituary

Ronald Patrick McRae

April 5, 1960 – October 14, 2025

It is with deep sorrow we announce the passing of Ron McRae, 65, of Winnipeg, MB on October 14, 2025, losing his battle to cancer.

Ron was born April 5, 1960, to Alyce Lynne Pruden (Dillabough) and Norman Jim McRae in Selkirk, MB. Ron was predeceased by his brother Jerry and his parents. He is survived by his siblings Wendy, Colleen and Lawson (Sarah). He also leaves behind his children Jasmine, Jerrie (Lesia), Ron (Alaina), grandchildren Ammellie and Dreyden as well as his many nieces and nephews.

We lovingly remember a man who despite all the hardships he faced in life, he remained kind and humble.

Ron held many job titles over the years, cab driver and poultry processor, to name a few. His true talent was building furniture, making Wendy some beautiful oak tables and helping Lawson with home renovations.

A natural storyteller, Ron had the remarkable ability to bring laughter to those around him when recounting his adventures in some of those jobs. His optimism was infectious always a beacon of light to those in need, embodying generosity and kindness.

Ron's legacy will live on through the lives he touched and the memories he created. His spirit will continue to inspire us to embrace life with courage and compassion.

Funeral Services will be held Saturday, November 1, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. in the Gilbart Funeral Chapel in Selkirk, with lunch to follow in the Gilbart Reception Centre.
