Sam Connolly

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Samuel John Jr Connolly who was called home on October 3rd, 2025, at the age of 66, surrounded by family at the Health Sciences Centre in Winnipeg. Sam was a beloved father, grandfather, brother, and friend. He is predeceased by his father Samuel mother Liz, and brother Clint.

He will be deeply missed by his ex-wife Melody, and his beloved children; Jordon (Angel), Samantha, and Tylor. Sam was a proud grandfather to Shyra, Noriya, Silas, Jasmine, and Hayla. He is also survived by his loving siblings; Eileen, Herb, Mary (Glen), Carol, and Richard, as well as his special friends Brian and Ron, numerous nieces and nephews, and of course, his little chihuahua, Mia, who brought him endless joy.

Sam was a strong, hardworking, and deeply caring man with a heart of gold and the most contagious smile and laughter. He dedicated over 25 years of service working for the Prairie Green Landfill. Where he worked until his retirement. Outside of work, Sam found his greatest joy in spending time with his children and grandchildren. He loved taking them on adventures and creating memories that they will cherish forever. One of his proudest accomplishments was building a park in his backyard. A special place created just for his grand-babies to play, laugh and grow. Sam enjoyed nature, watching old western movie and learning about the history of the Métis people. He also had a passion for home renovations, often working side by side with his son Tylor on various projects.

Samuel left a lasting impact on all who knew him. His presence was truly a gift. The love, strength and values he shared will live on through his children, grandchildren and those he loved and cared for. He will be deeply missed, but never forgotten.

The family would like to extend their deep appreciation to the staff at the Health Sciences Centre for their compassionate care and support shown to Samuel during his stay.

To honour the life of Samuel, his family will gather privately to celebrate his memory.
