SARAH MAY VINCENT

Unexpectedly, on Sunday, September 9, 2018, May Vincent passed away at the age of 84 years. She was born in Howard Creek, Saskatchewan on February 10, 1934.

May will be deeply and sadly missed by her loving husband of 61 years, Donald and her 5 children, Sharon (Dan) Obirek, Ken (Shauna) Vincent, Richard (Carla) Vincent, Kelly (Kristine) Vincent and Sheldon (Sue) Vincent; 11  grandchildren, Michelle Obirek, Derek (Angela) Obirek, Chelsey (Scott) Gibson, Allison (Keith) Mitchell, Gordon Vincent, Richard Vincent, Hayley Vincent, Amanda Vincent, Karl Gerrese, Sairagh Vincent and Jenna-Lee Vincent; 15 great grandchildren, Dylan Obirek, Devon Obirek, Tiana Obirek, Tatum Obirek, Fergie Obirek, Oden Gibson, Suri Gibson, Eva Gibson, Jocelyn Mitchell, Vanna Mitchell, Theron Blunt, Erianna Blunt, Freya Blunt and one great great grandchild, Drayden Sumner.

Mom worked many years cooking in various restaurants.  After retirement, they moved to Denare Beach, Saskatchewan where she volunteered at the community centre.  Mom loved to bake (not only for herself but for everyone else).  Knitting, crocheting, picking berries, quilting, her flowers and cactuses were just a few of her passions.  Mom also loved spending summers at the cabin in Beausejour.

Mom was also an avid bowler in her younger years.  After moving to Selkirk in 2016, mom had made many more friends.  Mom’s biggest love in life was to spend time with her family and friends, visiting and doing whatever she could for them.  Mom also had a special place in her heart for her dogs Chichi and Candy.

In keeping with her wishes, cremation has taken place and a celebration of her life will be held on Tuesday, September 18, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. in the Gilbart Funeral Chapel in Selkirk, MB. Interment of her ashes will take place in the Prince Albert Memorial Gardens on Friday, September 28 at 11:00 a.m.
