Shaunessy (Shaun) Semenowich Obituary

Shaunessy (Shaun) Semenowich

December 12, 1950 - March 29, 2024

Sorrowfully leaving here, but gracefully welcomed above, is Shaun Semenowich. He was born on December 12, 1950, in Selkirk, Manitoba, to Katie and John Semenowich. Alongside his brother, John, Shaun was raised and lived in East Selkirk and Walkleyburg, Manitoba. Shaun went to be with the Lord at the age of 73 on March 29, 2024, in Selkirk, Manitoba.

Shaun had a remarkable entrepreneurial spirit, establishing various business ventures across Manitoba and Saskatchewan. In the 1970s, he became the owner of "Koffee King" catering trucks, followed by founding "Mobilunch Catering" and "Golden Accent Jewelry". From 1986 to 2005, Shaun was a traveling salesman promoting "Hot Bricks" for gas BBQs. In 2000, he created "That Stuff For Pain", now successfully managed by his son Nicholas. From 1999 to 2015, Shaun owned and managed “Essentials Body Store” in Garden City Mall in Winnipeg. After “Essentials Body Store” closed, Shaun continued supplying his clients with his ionic minerals and herbs, showcasing an unwavering commitment to helping others on their health journeys, even amidst his own health challenges. Shaun extends a heartfelt thank-you to all those who worked alongside him, and for him, throughout the years. He found great fulfillment in helping people as they got started in life, readily offering assistance in any way he could.

Shaun leaves to mourn his wife D.J. (Dorothy) of 42 years (April 2024), along with his five children Christine, Shaun Jr, Michael, Nicholas (Leeah), Aelea (Jon), his big brother John (Wendy), their three children, Shaun’s nine grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, and many other relatives and friends.

A sincere thank you to Dr. H. Demsas, Dr. M. Genung, and to all the medical and dialysis staff at Selkirk Regional Health Centre, Dr. D. Puff and Nurse Heidi from Palliative Care, and Home Care, who helped care for Shaun. Your dedication and compassion greatly eased his journey.

Funeral service will be held at Gilbart Funeral Chapel at 309 Eveline Street, Selkirk, Manitoba, on Friday, April 5th, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. Coffee and dainties to follow the service. Private interment to follow at a later date.
