SHIRLEY HOLKE

On June 2nd, 2026, Shirley passed away 10 days short of her 90th Birthday. Mom was a strong loving determined woman who made the best of what life had to throw her way. She survived the loss of two wonderful husbands and most recently her son Larry in 2020.  Mom always said there is nothing worse than a parent losing a child first. Mom is survived by her four daughters and one son and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren, as well her extended Quarry Park Campers family who mean so much to her.

On June 12th mom would have been 90 and was so excited to celebrate and make the 90th milestone.  Originally a come and go celebration for her 90th birthday was planned for June 13th at her favorite second home for 30 years “The Park”.  A celebration will go on, changing the 90th birthday celebration into her celebration of life. We will be celebrating the most incredible woman who has touched our lives so deeply with a come and go gathering on Saturday June 13th, 2026 at the Park, lot 122 or also known as the lady with the flowers or to the dogs as cookies from grandma. Everyone is welcome and especially Blu, Haley and Milo. Please make this “Just another day at the park” please do not disappoint her by showing up in your “Sunday best” it’s just another day at the park starting at 12:30pm. Please bring your own chairs. Mom always said if you didn’t have the time to know me while I was alive you won’t find out about me in my obit.  Her celebration will share who she was.

  Private interment will take place at a later date. Mom was a lover of animals and animals being saved. In lieu of flowers because she really doesn’t need anymore! Donations can be made to an animal shelter or rescue of your choice. We will celebrate the most wonderful lady we know!
