Shirley Hourie (nee Peebles)

With broken hearts we announce the unexpected passing of Shirley Hourie, on December 3, 2018 at the age of 77 years with her family by her side.

Shirley was predeceased by her husband Wallace (Chico); mom and dad Maryann and James; sisters Dorthy and Marge; brothers Jim, Andy and Kenny; grandson Michael and great-grandson Harris.

Left to mourn are son Edward (Brenda); special grandson Justin; daughters Debbie (Warner) and Doreen; step-daughter Darlene (Mike); step-son Bradley; sisters Lila (Doug), Margret (John), Rita (Eugene) and Marlene; brothers Raymond (Cybil), Fred (Mavis) and Victor (Carey); 14 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews and friends.

Shirley worked various jobs throughout her life. Her greatest accomplishment was 40+ years of service with the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 42.

We would like to thank Gilbart Funeral Home, Dr. Speers and all the staff at the Selkirk Regional Health Centre for their compassionate care given to mom during her brief stay.

A celebration of Shirley’s life will be held on Thursday, December 13, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. in the Gilbart Funeral Chapel, Selkirk.
