Stephen (Steve) Pichor Obituary

Stephen (Steve) Melvin Pichor

October 29, 1944 – August 12, 2018

Our hearts are broken. We’ve lost our anchor, our port in a storm, our guiding light. Steve passed away from cancer on August 12, 2018. We will miss him so much. He was greatly loved and respected by us all.

Steve was predeceased by his father and mother, Henry and Helen Pichur and his brother Jim. He leaves to remember him and celebrate his life, wife Betty; daughters Leah (Keith) and Wendy; grandchildren Alexis, Steven, Christopher, Justin (Danielle), Cameron, Adam (Shawntae), Brayden and Amber; Greg, who he thought of as a grandson; as well as his great-grandchildren Owen, Zoey, Ella and baby Jack. He will also be remembered by his sisters Alice (Gordon) and Violet (Laurence); brother Gary and family and his sister-in-law Shirley and family.

Steve was born, as he liked to say “on a rock” in Pine Falls. He met and married Betty in 1967. He worked at MRM for most of his life, until his eyesight declined and he couldn’t work anymore. He never let that get him down though. He was always working around the yard doing as much as he could with whatever seasonal tasks needed doing and anything else he could think of. He liked to keep buy and not sit around.

His favourite thing to do was going over to our friends, Mel and Elaine’s, have some beers, listen to the radio and talk about anything and everything. He had some pretty good “discussions” with Mel about current events! They were always good friends though.

In later years, he loved getting together with the family for a barbecue or dinner, catching up on the children’s and grandchildren’s lives and giving advice if needed. He was so very proud of them and loved them so much. Poppa loved to hear the jokes from the kids and funny videos they showed him from their phones. He had just the best laugh. In turn, he always had a great story to share with them about his youth. He certainly led an adventurous life!

The children and grandchildren could talk to him about anything they wanted, no judgement from him. He was a fountain of knowledge and could help with any problem they had. If you wanted to know when anything happened, just ask him. He could tell you the year, the month, right down to the day. Never argue dates with him because if you check, he was always right.

In accordance with Steve’s wishes, cremation has taken place and no funeral service will be held.

THE RICHEST LIFE IS A LIFE FILLED WITH THE LOVE OF FAMILY AND FRIENDS. STEVE CONSIDERED HIMSELF A RICH MAN, IN THAT REGARD.
