Steve Fedak
With heavy hearts, on May 30, 2026, at the age of 88 after a short hospital stay, surrounded by his wife and family dad took God’s hand and went to rest eternally.
Dad will be sadly missed by his loving wife, Ruth of 65 years, his daughters, Bev (Brent), Theresa (John), and Sharon (Andy). His adored grandchildren, Matthew (Kate), Dylan, Mikala, Martina, Mitchell, and great grand-daughter Makenna. Also missing him will be many nieces, nephews and friends that meant so much to dad along with dad’s siblings Adeline, Anne, and Metro.
Dad was predeceased by his brothers, Alex, Mike, Fred, John, Pete, sisters, Doris and Mary.
Dad’s career in construction spanned 57 years which included BACM Construction, Municipality of St. Clements, and City of Selkirk. Dad was an active member of Narol Knights of Columbus. He was also a devoted member and volunteer of St. Stanislaus Parish.
Dad was a devoted husband, father, brother, uncle, friend but most of all he was our Gigi. Dad and mom built their first family home in Transcona. When they outgrew that home, they decided to buy some land and build in East Selkirk. Dad took pride in his yard, gardens and back shop. He always had a project on the go. He had a very strong work ethic, working long days and then in the yard until dark.
Dad and mom took many vacations with friends which took them to Hawaii, Vegas, California and Dominican. Not to mention the many road trips he took with mom and his girls.
The family would like to extend a huge thank you to the staff at the Selkirk Regional Health Centre for their gentle care of dad.
Funeral service will be held on Friday, June 19, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. at Gilbart Funeral Home in Selkirk, Manitoba. The service will be livestreamed via the following link https://youtube.com/live/Geg4PS-8IL4

To my Husband…
Softly out of the shadows, there came a gentle call.
You took the hand God offered you and quietly left us all.
And although I cannot hold you, I will never let you go,
because in my heart, you will live forever because I loved you so.
